Administrative/Biographical history: William Emlyn Davies (1899-1973) from Aberdare, Glamorgan, was a Swansea schoolteacher and an accomplished calligraphist.

Scope and content/abstract: Papers and calligrams of William Emlyn Davies, 1931-1985, including calligrams based on the poetry of Dylan Thomas, 1946-1983, as well as on his own poems and those of other poets; presentation copies of his calligraphy, 1954-1967; catalogues and printed matter, 1970-1983; calligraphic programmes of the Oxford Street Senior Boys' School, Swansea, 1932-1939, the Glanmor School for Girls, Swansea, 1953-1965, and Swansea and District Society for Mentally Handicapped Children programmes, [?1960sx1980s], of which his wife was assistant secretary and subsequently president; and family papers, 1969-1972.
