CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: The Rev. John Thomas Evans, MA, FSA, (1869-1941), was born in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, the second son of Titus and Elizabeth Evans, and was rector of Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, from 1899 to 1935. An antiquarian he published numerous articles on church history, church plate, and on Pembrokeshire and Gloucestershire.
