CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Pentre Mawr lies in the parish of Abergele, Denbighshire. It was acquired at the turn of the nineteenth century by Rowland Jones of Chester from the Williams family. The estate then passed to his son John Jones of Lincolns Inn and member of the firm Jones and Bateman. His heir was John Jones Bateman.

Scope and content/abstract: Deeds, letters and miscellaneous papers of the families of Williams, Jones and Jones-Bateman of Pentre Mawr in the parish of Abergele, Denbighshire, relating almost entirely to properties in the parish of Abergele.
