Administrative/Biographical history: The Rev. Owen Eilian Owen (1856-1938), lexicographer and historian, conducted research into Welsh lexicography. He was also a Calvinistic Minister, based in Liverpool, Lancashire.

Scope and content/abstract: Papers of Rev. O. Eilian Owen, 1692-1932, consisting mostly of his research notes and index entries on Welsh lexicography, including lists of words from sources including various editions of the Bible, Allwedd Paradwys, and adjectives in the Presbyterian and Methodist hymnbook of 1929; list of scriptural references in Spurrell's English-Welsh and Welsh-English Dictionary; transcripts of 'Llyfr Aneirin', 'Llyfr Taliesin', 'Ystoria Dared', and other medieval Welsh texts; notes on Welsh orthography and syntax; press correspondence relating to Welsh lexicography; sermons and expository notes on the Scriptures; college lecture notes on theology and church history; an account of weekly meetings of the Calvinistic Methodist churches in Liverpool, 1833-1841; minutes and accounts of the Ruthin Calvinistic Methodist Association, 1895-1916; transcripts of hymns by Ann Griffiths; miscellaneous newspaper cuttings and accounts; and printed books relating to lexicography and history, 1692-1932.
