Administrative/Biographical history: David Greenslade, academic writer and poet, (b. 1952), from Cefn Cribbwr, Glamorgan, conducted research into Welsh activities and societies in the USA and Canada in the early 1980s, including Welsh Congregational Churches, hymn and choral societies and women's Welsh clubs, publishing his conclusions as Welsh Fever: Welsh Activities in the United States and Canada Today (Cowbridge, 1986).


Scope and content/abstract: Newsletters, programmes, publicity material and ephemera connected with Welsh societies in America, 1939-1985; in Canada, 1968-1985; miscellaneous North American Welsh societies, 1970-1985, including the Welsh National Gymanfa Ganu Association, 1970-1985; Women's Welsh Club of America, 1977-1984; Welsh Associated Youth of America and Canada, 1982-1985; Cymdeithas Madog, 1980-1985; and National Welsh-American Foundation, 1982-1984; futher papers donated in 2005.

System of arrangement: Arranged into the following groups: Welsh societies in USA; Welsh societies in Canada; miscellaneous North American Welsh societies and activities; and other ethnic minorities in North America. A further donation made in 2005 has not yet been catalogued.
