Administrative/Biographical history: John Osmond is a writer and journalist, and a founder member and former Chairman of the Parliament for Wales Campaign (previously the Campaign for a Welsh Assembly), a cross-party, non-party organization set up to win support for an elected legislative assembly or parliament for Wales. The Campaign, which developed from the Cardiff-based Campaign for a Welsh Senate, set up in the wake of the 1987 General Election, was officially launched at Merthyr Tydfil on 26 November 1988, following a number of informal meetings throughout Wales during the previous year.


Scope and content/abstract: The collection comprises correspondence and papers, 1982-1998, relating to the activities of the Campaign for a Welsh Assembly, later the Parliament for Wales Campaign. They consist of minutes of meetings, strategy documents, press statements, press releases, discussion documents and press cuttings.
