CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: The Pembrokeshire Against Radar Campaign was formed in March 1990 to protest against the proposed location of a military radar installation in the Pembrokeshire National Park, and continued until April 1991, when the plans for the radar were scrapped.

Scope and content/abstract: The archive comprises campaign papers, 1990-1991 (including minutes of meetings, newsletters, and an information pack of reports, press cuttings, articles and pamphlets deriving from the course of the campaign); correspondence and papers, 1990-1991; and miscellaneous papers, 1990-1991.

Archival history:

Immediate source of acquisition: The papers were donated by the secretary of the Pembrokeshire Against Radar Campaign, Mrs Rosemary Hawley Jarman, Llanungar Cottage, Whitchurch, Dyfed in June and October 1991.

Related material: A tape recording of a public meeting, 10 May 1990, with Alan Clark, MP, Minister for Defence Procurement, has been transferred to the Audio-Visual unit at NLW [CM 4149].
