Scope and content/abstract: This class consists of manuscripts excluded from NLW MSS, for which class they might otherwise be eligible, on the grounds of the insubstantial or secondary quality of their contents. Types of manuscript commonly placed in this class are volumes of newspaper cuttings, scrap-books, dissertations and research papers. The series begins with NLW ex 416. It is a continuation of a closed series known as 'Miscellaneous Volumes' (or 'Misc. Vols').

System of arrangement: Arranged into a single series currently numbered NLW ex 1-2432 (at August 2006) and arranged in the order in which each item was received or processed.

Conditions governing access: Readers consulting modern papers in the National Library of Wales are required to sign the 'Modern papers - data protection' form.

Conditions governing reproduction: Usual copyright regulations apply.

Finding aids: 'Misc. Vols' 1-415 are described in a manuscript register, not yet indexed. Items placed in the series NLW ex, accessioned after June 1981, are described in files kept in the catalogue room and indexed in the Index to Schedules.
