Administrative/Biographical history: Ita Irene Owen (1908-1991) from Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire was the youngest of twelve children of William John Owen (1861-1912) and Anne Owen (née Rees, 1870-1957).

Scope and content/abstract: Papers of the Owen family of Summerhill, Roch, Pembrokeshire, 1770-1986, including diaries of members of the family, 1887-1956, containing entries relating mainly to farming activities at Summerhill; title deeds and documents, 1843-1963, including probate copies of wills; correspondence, 1894-1963; memoirs of Elizabeth Myfanwy Robinson (née Owen, 1891-1978), sister of Ita Owen; family photographs; almanac with entries, 1770-1771; account books and school reports.

Archival history: The Owen family of Summerhill papers were mostly in the possession of Miss Ita Irene Owen from Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.

Immediate source of acquisition: Donated by Ita Owen's nephew, Mr W.R.B. Robinson, Surrey, in 1992.
