Administrative/Biographical history: Dr David Moule-Evans (1905-1988), composer and conductor, was Professor of Harmony, Counterpoint and Composition at the Royal College of Music, 1945-1974. He was educated at the Royal College of Music and Queen's College, Oxford. Dr Moule-Evans' work has been performed widely in public and broadcast. His orchestral work includes Overture: The Spirit of London, 1947; Vienna Rhapsody, 1948; The Haunted Place, 1949; and Old Tupper's Dance, 1951. He also composed music for many documentary films, and pieces for piano, violin, oboe and flute.


Scope and content/abstract: Music compositions and related papers of Dr David Moule-Evans, 1925-1988; including orchestral symphonies, sonatas and other pieces, 1925-1965; and obituaries to him 1988.
