Administrative/Biographical history: Tom Thomas was a prominent figure in the cultural life of Neath during the mid and late 20th century. As a fluent Welsh speaker and a graduate of the University of Wales, he spent many years teaching Welsh in various schools in Neath. He also wrote Welsh plays for the 'ATHRO' and won distinction at National Eisteddfodau. In addition he was active in the local history of the Neath area and a member of the Neath Antiquarian Society. He died in Dec 1981.


Scope and content/abstract: Research notes by Thomas Thomas 1953-1976; photographs of Neath 1950-[1995]; printed works 1900-1980; other records 1905-[1990s]; material for dissertation by Thomas Thomas 'A regional survey of the Neath River Basin' including drafts of the dissertation and plans 1955-[1970]; papers relating to the teaching career of Thomas Thomas 1940-1953.
