He was succeeded by his son William Pritchard (d. c. 1800), sheriff of Anglesey in 1786, who was succeeded by his son Henry Pritchard (c.1799-1881). His three eldest sons pre-deceased him without issue and he was succeeded by his fourth son, George Pritchard (1843-1893), sheriff of Anglesey in 1879. He took the additional name of Rayner in 1871 on his marriage to Sarah Mary Brady-Rayner, daughter of John Brady, MP for Ely, Cambridgeshire. His eldest surviving son, John Henry Pritchard-Rayner, succeeded him.
