CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Dilys M. Jones was the daughter of Sir Thomas Jones and Lady Jones, Gwyndy, Amlwch, Anglesey; he was a doctor, best known for his work in the field of education, and in particular for his efforts to establish a grammar school in Amlwch; the secondary school in Amlwch is named after him. The Joneses were related to the Thomas family of Llanfflewin, Anglesey. Dr William Thomas researched the history of his family in the 1920s, and Dilys Jones seems to have shared his genealogical interests; she was a worker on behalf of the blind on Anglesey.

Scope and content/abstract: Papers, [1796]-1986, relating to the family of Dilys Jones, mainly comprising correspondence, notes and other material relating to the Thomas family accumulated by Dr William Thomas; also included are papers relating to the Jones family and schools in Anglesey, as well as photographs and literary and religious material.
