CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: The National Farmers' Union was formed in 1908 to represent farmers and growers in England and Wales. The National Farmers Union Cymru (NFU Cymru) has nearly 15,000 members and represents the majority of farmers in Wales. Membership of NFU Cymru is entirely voluntary and the Union is self funded. The organisation itself is based in Mid Wales and its structure is based around 11 counties and 47 local groups representing between four to eight parishes.

Scope and content/abstract: Includes, Llyfr Cofnodion, 1935-1946; minutes of the executive committee, 1988-1997; minutes of the sub-committee, 1978-1987; minutes of the livestock committee, 1987-1997; minutes of the milk committe, 1987-1999; and the minutes of the finance and organisation sub committee, 1978-1989.
