Administrative/Biographical history: Prior to the establishment of the Flintshire Record Office in 1951, documents were deposited at Flintshire County Library. The records were transferred to the Record Office as a number of accessions from 1965 onwards.

Scope and content/abstract: Records collected by Flintshire County Library, 1582-1992, relating to the county of Flintshire, including deeds, Dyserth and Meliden, 1763-1873; records of South Buckley Coal and Fire Brick Co. Ltd., 1866-1877; papers of John Lassey, 1869-1877; Halkyn parish records, 1748-1832; correspondence of William Ewart Gladstone, 1852-1884; printed books, 1802-1974; and records relating to Denbighshire, 1820-1956.
