Administrative/Biographical history: The county of Flintshire falls within the Diocese of St Asaph and consists of over fifty ecclesiastical parishes, including Brynford. The records of individual ecclesiastical parishes in Flintshire include registers of baptisms, marriages and burials, as well as records of the churchwardens and Parochial Church Councils, parish charities, schools, clubs and societies. Parish records were deposited at the Clwyd Record Office, following an agreement of 1976 between the Church in Wales and the Welsh County Councils.


Scope and content/abstract: Records of Brynford parish, 1799-2002, including registers, 1877-1975; service registers, 1897-1999; terriers, 1921; glebe and tithe records, 1864-1920; Parochial Church Council records, 1920-2002; churchwarden's records, 1850-1989; records of church affairs, 1852-1999; records of charities, 1882-1975; records of church organisations, [19th century]-1957; school records, 1851-1961; and miscellaneous, 1799-1953.

System of arrangement: Arranged into four groups: Group One, incumbent records, churchwardens, church affairs, civil records, school and miscellaneous; Group Two, incumbent records, churchwardens, parochial church council, church affairs and church organisations; Group Three, marriage register; and Group Four, incumbent records, churchwardens, parochial church council, church affairs and charities.
