Administrative/Biographical history: Firms of solicitors both within and outside of the county of Ceredigion have collected records relating to land and estates in the county. These firms include Alun Thomas and John of Aberystwyth; Lt-Col D. S. R. Williams, T. D., D. L, in Lampeter; Amphlett, Lewis and Evans, in Llandysul, all in Cardiganshire. Other firms that have dealt with holdings in Cardiganshire include Archibold-Williams and Sons and William H. Edwards and Company, of Bala, Merionethshire, Wolstenholmes of Heald Green, Cheshire, John Evans Thomas of Liverpool, and Crundwell, Potter and Kempson, of Farnham, Surrey. The Parry family (later Parry-Webley) owned the Neuadd Trefawr estate, in south Cardiganshire, from the 16th to 19th centuries.
