The estate descended in the male line. John Lennox Griffith Poyer Lewis (1819-1886) married Katherine, youngest daughter of Daniel Poyer Callen of Molleston, Pembrokeshire, in 1857, who brought the Grove property to her husband. The Callen family had also owned Penblewin and Trenichol. On John Lennox Griffith Poyer Lewis's death without issue, the estate passed to his brother, the Rev. Richard Lewis (1821-1905).
