CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Walter L. Williams and Sons, solicitors, were based in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire. The firm accumulated records relating to their predecessor's clients' interests in the area. Walter Levi Williams of Cefn-y-dre (fl. 1888-1930) of the firm was a surviving partner of Vaughan Williams and Co; he operated a separate busines as an estate agent and auctioneer. The clients included the Rev. James Jenkins (fl. 1855-1892), Baptist minister, Mayor of Newport, Pembrokeshire; the Penn family of Camrose Estate, in Castle Bythe, Rudbaxton, Haycastle and Rosemarket, Pembrokeshire; J. W. Evans, of West Street, Fishguard, William Williams & Son, General Merchants; Fishguard British School; and W. Cuthbert Thomas Supply Stores of Fishguard.
