Administrative/Biographical history: The Taf Fechan Water Supply Board was established under an Act of Parliament in 1921. Its purpose was to supply water in bulk to the Merthyr Tydfil Corporation, Rhymney Valley Water Board, Pontypridd and Rhondda Joint Water Board, Llantrisant and Llantwit Fardre Rural District Council and Aberdare Urban District Council.
