CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: The Caerphilly Local Board (Glamorgan) was created in June 1893 out of the Pontypridd Rural Sanitary District. It covered parts of the parishes of Eglwysilan and Llanfabon, and included Llanbradach, Ystrad Mynach, Nelson, Aber, Groeswen, Nantgarw, Taff's Well, and Tongwynlais, as well as the town of Caerphilly. Under the Local Government Act 1894, the Local Board became the Caerphilly Urban District Council.

Scope and content/abstract: Records of the Carphilly Local Board of Health 1893-1894, consists of: bye-laws pertaining to the Caerphilly Local Board of Health.
