Administrative/Biographical history: The Cardiff and District Baptist Board was incorporated on 31 May 1930. Its aims were to promote evangelical religion in Cardiff and District, Glamorgan, or elsewhere, according to the principles and usages of the Baptist Denomination. The Board was administered by an executive committee consisting of thirty elected members, not more than a third of whom were to be ministers. Membership was invited from Baptist churches within the area. In 1933, the Board took over the trusts of Rumney Baptist Church to ensure its survival as a place of worship, and in 1941 also took over the charity of Pentyrch Street Baptist Church, with the same aim. The Board raised funds for the erection of Siloam Baptist Chapel, Corporation Road, Cardiff, and Longcross Street Baptist Chapel, Cardiff. The Board was wound up, due to lack of financial support, in 1981.
