Administrative/Biographical history: The Royal British Legion, known as the British Legion between 1921 and 1971, was founded as a voice for the ex-service community. At present, the Legion is one of the country's leading ex-service charities and largest membership organisations. It provides financial, social and emotional support to those who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and their dependants. The Legion is organised into local branches and districts/counties.


Scope and content/abstract: Records of the Royal British Legion Wales, 1921-1967, comprising: minute books, 1921-1967; organising secretary's diaries and reports, 1932-1944; Order of Service for the unveiling of the National War Memorial of Wales for 1939-1945, Cardiff, 1949; form of Service to be used at the Welsh National War Memorial, Cathays Park, Cardiff, at the visit of H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh, 1954; and Order of Service of Remembrance to be held at the Welsh National Temple of Peace and Health, Cathays Park, Cardiff, [mid 20th century].
