Merched y Wawr has branches, or Gwawr meetings, in all parts of Wales (nearly 300 of them, in 14 areas). In 2002, the society adopted a policy of urging local branches and area meetings to deposit their records in local archives repositories in Wales with the assistance of the Women's Archives of Wales/Archif Menywod Cymru. The Cowbridge branch and South-East area has been active since 1993.
