Administrative/Biographical history: Serck Services Ltd grew out of an automobile radiator manufacturing company founded by Peter Serck in Bermondsey, London, in 1906. After relocating to Coventry and then Birmingham, the company was briefly taken into public ownership during the First World War. After the War, the company rapidly expanded, and by 1924, had branches in towns throughout the country. It would appear that the Cardiff branch was established in 1922. The company expanded into cooling systems for mining equipment and aircraft. In the 1980s, parts of the company were sold, and the automobile parts and servicing division became part of the Mechanical Repair Division of the Unipart group. The Cardiff branch is branded as Serck Intertruck.
