Administrative/Biographical history: In the early decades of the twentieth century the campaign for women's suffrage gathered pace. In Cardiff the local association appears to date from 1921 and may have grown out of the Cardiff and District Women's Suffrage Society and the Penarth Women's Suffrage Society which were in existence from 1915-1921 and 1910-1914 respectively.
