Administrative/Biographical history: H. A. (Harold Alexander) Clargo began work in 1906 with a dairy company in Roath, Cardiff, Glamorgan. In 1907, he was apprenticed as a hairdresser and worked for various hairdressers in Cardiff until 1912, when he was employed as a mess and engineer's steward on various vessels until 1920. During the Second World War he served in the Home Guard.
Scope and content/abstract: Diary and Almanack, 1884; diary of 2nd lieutenant S. E. Richards, 1916; Cardiff Wholesale and Retail Tobacconists minutes book, 1928-1932; miscellaneous papers relating to H. A. Clargo, including testimonials, certificates and photographs, 1906-1945.
