CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Civil parishes were established by the Local Government Act 1894. The civil parishes took over some responsibilities previously administered by the (ecclesiastical) parish vestry. In 1974, parish councils in Wales became known as community councils or town councils and existing boundaries were altered.

Scope and content/abstract: Records of Llansannor parish including overseer's and surveyor's account book, 1817-1819; list of men liable to serve as chief constable of Cowbridge higher, 1825; overseer's and surveyor's rate book, 1817-1818; overseer's account book, 1827-1830; copy of tithe plan and apportionment, 1845 [copied c. 1980].
