CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Penarth Intermediate and Technical school was established in 1894 in Archer Road, Penarth under the provisions of the Welsh Intermediate Education Act 1889. The school was erected at a cost of £7,500 and the 7 acre site on which it stood was donated by the late Earl of Plymouth. It originally held 120 Boys and 80 Girls as an intermediate school but was later reestablished as a Grammar school.
