Administrative/Biographical history: Barry is an ancient parish within rural deanery of Barry in the diocese of Llandaff. It is situated 8 miles south west of Cardiff on the Bristol Channel. The ancient Parish Church of St. Nicholas in Barry was rebuilt in 1874-1876, with All Saints Church serving as a chapel of ease from 1909. St. Nicholas church was closed in 1919 and All Saints became the parish church from that date.
