CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Cogan is an ancient parish within the rural deanery of Penarth in the diocese of Llandaff. It is situated abuting the Penarth docks, adjacent to the parish of Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan. The Parish church, dedicated to St. Peter, was restored by the third Maquess of Bute and is served by a chapel of ease, dedicated to the Holy Nativity.
