CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Caerau with Ely is an ancient parish within the rural deanery of Penarth in the diocese of Llandaff. It is situated approximately 3.5 miles south-west of Cardiff. Its parish church, dedicated to St. Mary was deconsecrated in 1957 and reconsecrated in 1961. It was deconsecrated again in 1973.
