CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Llantrisant is an ancient parish within the rural deanery, archdeaconry and diocese of Llandaff. It is a large parish situated at the base of the Rhondda Valley, approximately 11 miles north west of Cardiff and includes the towns of Pontyclun and Miskin to the south and Tonyrefail to the north. The parish church was rebuilt in Norman style around 1246 is dedicated to three saints: Illtyd, Gwynno and Dyfodwg. The parish also encompasses St. Davids church, Miskin and St. Michael's church, Beddau
