CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Neath is an ancient parish within the rural deanery of Upper Groneath in the diocese of Llandaff. It is situated in the Vale of Neath and stretches from Tonna in the north to Swansea Bay in the south. The church of St. Thomas has been in existance since Norman times, while the church of St. David was built in 1866.
