CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Coity is an ancient parish within the western division of the rural deanery of Groneath in the diocese of Llandaff. It is situated approximately 2 miles north-east of Bridgend in the hundred of Newcastle. The parish church is dedicated to St. Mary. The parish has two other churches, at Nolton and Brackla.
