CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Colwinston is an ancient parish within the western division of the rural deanery of Lower Groneath in the diocese of Llandaff. It is situated approximately 4 miles south of Bridgend in the hundred of Ogmore. The parish church is dedicated to St. Michael.
