Administrative/Biographical history: Roath is an ancient parish within the rural deanery of Cardiff in the diocese of Llandaff. The parish used to encompass a rural district on the eastern side of Cardiff, but was made part of the borough of Cardiff in the 19th century and now is considered part of the city centre. The parish church is dedicated to St. Margaret, with two other churches, St. Anne's and St. Edward's also serving the parish.
