Administrative/Biographical history: Sully is an ancient parish within the rural deanery of Penarth in the diocese of Llandaff. It is situated south-west of Cardiff in the hundred of Dinas Powys and encompasses the rural area that surrounds the village of Sully on the coast of the Bristol Channel. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
