Administrative/Biographical history: Aberpergwm is a modern parish within the western division of the rural deanery of Upper Groneath in the diocese of Llandaff. It was created in 1861 from the ancient parish of Cadoxton-juxta-Neath. It is situated approximately 10 miles north-east of Neath. The records here relate to Aberpergwm and St. Mary's Church, Blaengwrach, which was erected as a chapel of ease in the parish of Glyncorrwg and transferred to Aberpergwm in 1950. The parish church is dedicated to St. Cattwg.
