Administrative/Biographical history: Glyntaff is a modern parish within the rural deanery of Caerphilly in the diocese of Llandaff. The parish originally laid within the parish of Eglwysilan. Records of baptisms and burials at the church can be found in the Eglwysilan registers from 1838 until 1848, when Glyntaff formed a separate parish. The new parish included parts of Eglwysilan, Llantwit Fardre and Llanwonno. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, was erected in 1841.
