Administrative/Biographical history: Lottie May Swansbury was born in Abergwynfi in 1908, and in 1912 her family moved to Treorchy. She left school in 1922 and entered domestic service. She worked for a time in London but in 1931 returned home to marry William John Evans, and settled in Treorchy where they had two daughters. She died in 1996.
