CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Llanfairfechan parish is in the county of Gwynedd, formerly Caernarfonshire, north Wales. The town of Llanfairfechan, located on the north Wales coast, developed in the late 19th century as a Victorian holiday resort, popular for its sea air and bathing. This collection features properties called Maes y Bryn, Llwynysgolog and Tyn y Llwyfan, in Llanfairfechan.

CONTENT

Scope and content/abstract: Material comprises deeds etc, relating to Llanfairfechan properties, including Tyn y Llwyfan, and Maes y Bryn and Llwynysgolog.
Amongst the parties named in the deeds relating to Tyn y Llwyfan, dated 1855-1856, are Sir Richard Bulkeley-Williams Bulkeley (1801-1875), and his son Sir Richard Lewis Mostyn Williams-Bulkeley (1833-1884) of the Baron Hill Estate, Anglesey.
