CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Robert D. Barnsdale of Llanfairfechan, north Wales graduated in history at the University of Wales, Bangor. He is a regular reader at the university archives and at Conwy Record Office where he has also worked as a volunteer. His particular research interest is the history of Llandudno.

CONTENT

Scope and content/abstract: Photocopied documents and original material relating to the history of north Wales, and the Llandudno and Llanfairfechan areas in particular. Comprises: copy of extracts from an unspecified work on the Salisbury family of Llanrwst, Rug and Bachymbyd, no date; copies of photographs of Llanfairfechan railway station, ca. 19th and 20th centuries; typescript volume entitled The Salisbury Family of Llanwydden Hall, Glanwydden: Their Ancestors and Descendents, by R. D. Barnsdale, 1983; copies of Bishop's transcripts, from 1677 to 1759, for the parish of Penmynydd, Anglesey; copy of advertisement for coach trips from Llandudno, ca. late 19th century; copies of part of Thorne Deeds Schedule relating to the Mostyn Estate, 1957; booklet entitled A Short History of Bodafon Hall and Farm, by R. D. Barnsdale, 1985; typescript pamphlet entitled A History of Occupants of Penrhyn Old Hall Eglwys-rhos, Llandudno, by R.D. Barnsdale, 1986; minute books and other records of the Llandudno and District Historical Society, 1986-1991.
