CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Dr Griffith Evans (1835-1935) was born in Towyn, Merioneth and later lived at Bryncinallt, Bangor, Gwynedd. He was acknowledged as one of the most distinguished vetinary surgeons in the country. He was for 20 years on the staff of the University College of North Wales as lecturer in Vetinary Hygiene. In 1919 he was made Honorary D. Sc. of the University of Wales and in 1931 he received the freedom of the city of Bangor.

CONTENT

Scope and content/abstract: Reminiscences of the Towyn district, Merioneth by Dr Griffith Evans along with typescript extracts from his journals and letters.
Pedigree showing the descent of Dr Griffith Evans from Meuric, King of Dyfed.
Also, memories of Dr Griffith Evans collected by his daughter, Erie Evans, following his death (2 copies).
