CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: Griffith Evans lived at Drws y Coed, Rhyd-ddu, Caernarfonshire. Rhyd-ddu is a village located at the foot of the highest mountain in Wales, Snowdon. One of the village's most well-known children was T. H. Parry-Williams, the poet. He was born in Rhyd-ddu, where his father was a schoolmaster, and in 1912 he won the crown and the chair at the National Eisteddfod.

CONTENT

Scope and content/abstract: A photocopy of a winning essay at a literary meeting on the subject of Rhyd-ddu, it's people and it's history.
