Administrative/Biographical history: The Society of Friends, also known as Quakers, is a Christian Protestant sect founded by George Fox (1624-1691). The Friends have no ministerial order. Each congregation is a Particular (or Preparative) Meeting. These are grouped into Monthly Meetings which in turn combine to form Quarterly Meetings and, at national level, a Yearly Meeting. Esgair Goch Friends were part of the Hereford and Mid-Wales Monthly Meeting.


Scope and content/abstract: Returns to Charity Commissioners, 1854, relating to the Friends' graveyard at Esgair Goch.
