CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: A deed of Trust was drawn up for Domgay [Domgae] Chapel, in Llandysilio in 1824, but the congregation predates that, as there are records of Christenings for 1814 in the National Archives. The records do not show when Groes-lwyd Chapel in Guilsfield was built - the earliest registers in the National Library of Wales date to 1873.

Scope and content/abstract: Groes-lwyd Chapel, Guilsfield: Charity Commission orders approving trustees, authorising the sale of the chapel, and setting out a scheme for the administration of the monies thus realised, 1916-1957.
