CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history: The original Calvanistic Methodist chapel in Llanidloes was Capel Bethel, builth in 1779. In 1872/3 two chapels were built to replace it: China Street Welsh Calvinistic Methodist Chapel, and Bethel Street English Calvinistic Methodist Chapel. The organ, which is the subject of these papers, was installed in the China Street Chapel in 1896
