Administrative/Biographical history: Colonel Henry Platt (alive 1895-1914), of Gorddinog, Llanfairfechan, Caernarfonshire, was a relative of the Platt family of industrialists, Oldham, Lancashire. He ran the Dolwyddelan estate and was involved in quarrying in the area. His bankers were Old Bank, Bangor (Caernarfonshire), and Williams & Co. (Chester), the latter eventually becoming part of Lloyds Bank.


Scope and content/abstract: Banking records of the Platt family including Gorddinog and Ystrad Hall Estates, [c.1890]-1956, notes on the dissolution of Williams & Co. Bank,[c.1915], agreements to supply water to Cae Coch mine and to construct Brwynog Reservoir, leases of Tynddol Quarry, Prince Llewelyn or Bwlchcynyd Quarry and Adwyr-dwr Quarry, Dolwyddelan, 1905-1926.
